Earlier this year I had the pleasure of meeting a lovely chap called Max at Reading Festival. With some mutual friends and a few beers we soon got chatting before I learned all about Max’s band You Me At Six and also (excitingly) his clothing label in partnership with pal Henri – Antique. It’s probably mostly a label for guys – with some kickass tees and jumpers – but everything is unisex and there’s a few gorgeous girlie bits too, so I went about styling it up on the streets of New York City last week and I fell in love.
Any city has it’s charm. It’s progression street to street, block to block and change of surrounding, smell, sight and look. We decided to go on probably the biggest walk i’ve ever done in my life, from Brooklyn over to SoHo and then further up into Union Square Manhattan to the Irving Plaza for a club night called Rebel Bingo. When I looked up the route we walked later on that day, we realised that we walked over eight miles across the city. Wow.
Now George and I are really into walking (we walk a lot when not in the car, love being in the car too) but even that was exhausting for us. Luckily my vest and F21 shorts kept me cool as the weather was pretty hot that day (it was last Friday) and well, lets say we had a lay in on Saturday! The things we saw and the places we went though, i’ll never forget seeing the city like that. I think if I lived in New York I wouldn’t be able to resist walking everywhere at first – you just want to take it all in!
